Default electrical issue

My '85 944 must have overheard me tell an inquiry mind that I would consider selling it to him. The next day some electrical issues start up. Fuses are fine and, at least according to the lid of the fusebox, these devices are on multiple relays. I did not add any new electrical devices.

Oddly enough, if I restart the car, the devices will work 20% of the time. Sometimes, they'll start to work after driving the car for a while.

Affected: power windows, wipers (front and back), blower (A/C/heat) and side-view power mirrors.

I'm hoping it was just a relay...i've seen pix on this board and have no interest in rewiring!

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Pain. First, pull the fuses, one at a time and clean the contacts. If that doesn't fix the problems you may have a ground problem. Find the grounding points and remove the nut and clean the contacts. If that doesn't work, look to the relays. I don't know 944s but I'll bet there are only a coulple of types of relays. You should have a spare of the most popular. Time to swap a few. A good look at the schematic might show you points common to the affected circuits.

The things that don't work - do they all "not work" at once, or is it random. You know, like sometimes the windows will work but the wipers and the bloewrs don't; other times the blower is on and the other stuff doesn't work.

Also - is this the newer 944 design with the fuse box under the hood or the older design where it's in the driver's side footwell?
