Default In need of emissions help.

The time has come to get VA plates.
Does anybody have a exhaust sniffer to check my CO level?
I would like to know where I am, before the real test.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

George, I don't know how VA's emission test goes, but since you own a SC you should be fine :P . I took my 911 without checking the CO level to get the MD emissions test done. They used the exhaust test only and my SC passed with flying colors . I also don't have a cat or any smog equipment.

Hey Pari, I guess I am a little paranoid when it comes to these things.

I want to be ready for the fall driving season (VA plates)

I hope to get my tails back from Paul soon, after that, I will be a driving fool

Not familiar with MD emissions so don't know their procedures.
In VA the emissions shops have dyno that is tied in to the data base in Richmond. The test in VA is a 3 gas test, CO, Nox, and I don't remember.
Don't think the Gunson will test for Nox.
On my SC I have SSI's and a sport muffler. Takes some fiddling but it will pass emissions, car is so lean it will hardly run. Make sure your car is fully warmed up before the test including letting it idle if you have to wait.

FWIW: I've had 2 VA emissions tests since owning the SC and both times the car passed with flying colors right in the middle of the acceptable ranges. I'm running stock HE's witht he O2 sensor plugged in.

Thanks for all the information guys.

Hey Doug, On your recommendation I used Sterling Automotive on the BMW. It was painless, so the Porsche is next.

I hope to get it done by next week.
