Default Speedo removal

[Partially] removed my speedo from my 91SC this weekend >> however when I got it out of the dash and tried to "unplug" some of the conecting wires > felt a bit more resistence than I wanted > selected to cease work and request advise..

Do the wires simply unplug from the back of the instrument?

The brown wires [I am assuming ground wires > simple as they are the spade type connector] but there is a blue/black, white .. red wire that goes into a red plastic circular connector... do these simply plug into the speedo??

besides the wires there probably is the speedo drive cable. "probably" because i think at some time, speedo changed from cable to electronic and i don't know if SC was electronic or not

I don't have a speedo cable >> so the SC is electronic

Kim,
they do all unplug. Make sure you mark the location/color combinations. You have power, ground, various lights such as high beam indicator and dash light. If you cross wire, you can fry it - ask me how I know.

I was hesitant when I removed mine as well but gentle steady pressure did the trick for me.

DEFINATELY draw a diagram before you remove everything.
