Default And there goes the H4...

My wife stopped for gas tonight and noticed the right headlight was hanging loose... it looks like the hole for the one bolt that holds in the H4 assembly is stripped...

Any ideas? First thought was to JB weld on a nut... then I thought why not fill the hole with JB weld, and then drill it and tap it...

Does anyone know the size/thread pitch of that one bolt??? Does anyone have any other ideas?

Anyone care to argue that the only proper way to fix this involves an engine drop?

Thanks!

I'm up in Severna Park. If you drive it up, I'll give you a first hand report. I wouldn't recomend the threading of JB weld. I have found it usedful but overrated.

I think you could probably get a speed nut that will fit and a screw that matched the trim. A speed nut is one of those spring metlal clips with a hole in one side that will catch a machine screw or sheet metal screw.
Clip this over the metal tab inside the headlight bucket where the old screw was threaded. You can get them at most discount auto parts stores.
Just fined one that will fit and match a screw to it.
