Default New Guy gets to the Point

Hi all:

I am new to the area and new to the board, having moved to the area from Seattle in November. Drove my second time at SP last weekend and had a great time. The people were very friendly (I met some of you, and rode with one), and I really like the track. I also loved VIR the weekend before. The West Coast has nothing on you guys out here, track-wise.

My car (white 944S2 w/968 engine) continues to be a bit cranky, but overall it was a great weekend.

Welcome to the group, Terry. We like water pumpers too. Beware if these guys suggest you need an engine drop.

Don't be silly, Bill. We can't drop his engine. Gotta pull it out the top!

Pulling it out the top is the easy part. Resisting the urge to stuff it in the rear trunk is something else altogether.

Welcome to the group.

Cynthia? Is that you??

Was very bad boogy to see you car leaving SP on the flatbed after teh March event - trust the problem was a minor one. Great to hear that you were back at it last weekend.

You have a 968 engine in that car? Must be fun!
Don't take too much notice of the FEWC jokes. Its only a matter of time before the NOVA crew figures out a way to drop [or tug] a front loader in two hours or less.

Actually, you can drop the engine or pull it from the top. I have done both. Both are equally horrible jobs. You 911 guys have it easy.

My car had a combo broken clutch, bad DME, and bad fuel pressure regulator, which caused it to come home from the firsrt two events on flatbeds. I think it's protesting the move. Last week at SP was a victory just because it made it home under its own power.

Hey, welcome to the board Teach

For those that hadn't heard I was Terry's victim (ahem, I mean student ) last weekend and let me tell you, I sure had a great time. Matter of fact, I was having so much fun with him in the car that I actually declined to Solo.

BTW, there was nothing broken or not working on his car when he gave me a ride last weekend for a session. All I can say is that I have a whole new appreciation for waterpumpers

Don't worry, we'll get you initiated NoVa style soon with some garage time ...
