Does anyone know of BMW mastertech on the level of Vicegrip that they recommend?
My engine mounts are shot - pretty certain of it since upon doing my oil change I could easily rock the engine back and forth with my bare hand AND the idle vibration is worse than probably any of the latest lithium charged adult toys turned all the way to max. I usually do this kind of stuff on my own but given the right quote and craftsmanship level I'd be willing to possibly try someone else given the holidays are pretty hectic for me this year. Thank you !, - Ion

Ion, I will go with Paddy on this one also. I have thrown some some business their way. Recently, after rebuilding the bottom of my M3, the clutch on my 330 was about to fail - something I am more than capable of doing but sent it up to RRT. I justified it by reminding myself of how much money I saved on the M3. Sometimes, it's easier that way.

Having said the above, I just did the motor mounts on a 330 and it took all of 3 hours total. The "book" on that job is a lot longer.

I was expecting this to be a thread about a massive track off and the need to get back in and drive before your brain made you take up needlepoint (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Jack it and pack it you lazy sod! Fn gentleman drivers.... sheesh!

I think I saw your car on Reddit yesterday. I don't know, looks OK to me:

I believe that condition is called enginection. The V8s do seem to enjoy it the most indeed as depicted.

I just researched this and it turns out the BMW Spec for vertical engine movement is 1 1/2
inches at its maximum point. I believe the engine shown in the vid is still barely within spec. |
