Default Fs: 1999 e36 m3

Hey everyone,

I'm selling my M3 for help with a downpayment on a house and it needs to go ASAP. It's really bittersweet time for me, so I'm hoping it can sell quickly and I can rip off this bandaid. The car has ran track days with PCA, BMWCCA, SCCA and TRACKDAZE. Below is a copy and paste of my craigslist ad. I forgot to mention in the ad that the headliner was replaced just before my purchase, and that the spare wheel cover is missing. Photos are in the CL ad (I posted it last night), but I can upload or e-mail photos of anything you'd like to see. The price is $8500. My number is two four zero 271.2300. My voicemail hasn't been working, so text or message me if I don't answer.

My 1999 BMW M3 is for sale. It is a street car, but is well-maintained and ready for the street or track today. I was about to install all of the safety equipment, but now need the money instead. There has been plenty of maintenance completed since I purchased it. Soon after buying it, the head gasket was replaced, the head was rebuilt, decked and completely resealed by DPS in Gaithersburg, MD.
It's not in perfect exterior shape, but is mechanically in great shape. It has almost brand-new hawk blue race pads with one track day on them. I also have the street hawk pads that were on the car when purchased. If you're not going to track the car (you should, it's an amazing handling car), you'll want to switch out the race pads.
Here's a list of some of the work done:
-Mishimoto aluminum radiator with upgraded hoses. BMWCCA hpde's don't allow E36 cars on the track unless the radiator has been replaced within a certain amount of miles OEM, or with an aluminum radiator (regardless of mileage).
-High Performance water pump
-Turner motorsport front and rear sway bars. Rear sway bar reinforcements welded in
-Brake cooling ducts
-Inner and outer tie rods
-Front slotted, rear slotted/drilled rotors
-Spare front slotted rotors. New and still in the boxes.
-Motul race brake fluid (rbf600). Flushed at the beginning of this season.
-Stainless Steel front and rear brake lines. As you can tell, being able to stop is important to me.
-Aftermarket Muffler (not catback, just the muffler) installed by previous owner. Subtle exhaust note.
-Hood pins (hood release cable would have to be replaced if you want to use the interior hood release)
-Turner clutch/brake/gas pedals
-Only Motul oil since I've had it. Changed regularly
-Differential, trans, motor, coolant, brake, power steering fluids all changed. Power steering hard line replaced. They're known to fail.
-Rear trailing arm bushings replaced with race derlin bushings
-Front and rear Konis, but I don't know what brand springs. The spring/shock combo came from a Spec3 e36 race car.
-Front strut mount reinforcement plates, rear shock mount reinforcements
-Aftermarket rear spoiler from previous owner
-12.5mm front wheel spacers
-Right front hub and bearing
-Right front control arm, which includes both ball joints
I'm sure there are more things I'm forgetting.
The bad:
-Sunroof doesn't work
-Every six months or so the SRS light comes on. I have the peak reset tool and can reset it in about a minute. From reading online, the light can turn on from many things like track use, mechanical work, electrical work, etc.
-The car runs rough the first 15 seconds when started cold. It has done this since I have owned it, and it runs perfect after those 15 seconds. It has never been an issue. No CEL. The last time the CEL light came on, it was for an o2 sensor, which was then replaced.
-Both bumpers were in rough shape when I purchased the car. The rear has a section missing at the lower/center area. The front was replaced with an oem-style aftermarket cover.
-Both bumpers have rough, square holes cut for the tow straps. Both straps are from Turner Motorsport. The car was never meant to be a garage queen or a show car for car meets.
-Hood shocks are worn

I can get pretty busy at work. If I don't answer the phone, text or e-mail me. I don't drive the car normally, but can bring it to work in Silver Spring, MD. It's in Germantown, MD now. Here's a video of me driving the car at Mid-Ohio last fall:

If the car isn't sold by 7/4, I'll be taking it for a final track day at Summit Point with Trackdaze on 7/5.

Thanks,

Alan

The youtube video is before sway bars and RTABs, and front wheel spacers.

The head was rebuilt with 155,637 miles. Invoice date is 4/16/14. The car right now has 161,613 miles.
