Funny stuff.

Where was that a few years ago?

As an instructor one of the worst rides I ever took was in a VW Scirocco. I had been working with a student and he was getting up to speed. Coming through turn 3 at Summit as I’m screaming “MORE GAS”, he got scared and lifted.

Car instantly swapped ends and we went down the grass to driver’s right (now driver’s left) crossed track still going backwards just about at the apex of the kink and continued until finally coming to rest just before dropping off the curb at 5.

Surprisingly, no impact and no damage done to the car.

Meanwhile, he's probably thinking, "SEE??!! This is why I didn't add more gas -- it could have been so much worse!"

Funny article.

I think I may bring my smartphone into the car next time I instruct, and tell the student I have an app to overide his throttle and brake.
