SOLD
I've been thinking for a while about selling the 996tt (to fund a 997tt/gt3.) I've been fairly lazy about it, only looking for its replacement in spurts. Haven't found anything so no rush to sell the 996. But a neighbor has contacted me out of the blue interested in the car. So, since it is officially going on the mkt I figured I should post here. I can't find my latest Excellence market reports, and they aren't online anymore, so Im going to have to guess a price too. If Im off base, please let me know. 2003 996tt * X50 * Factory GT2 body parts (bumper, tail, properly tilted radiator) * PCCBs * PSS9 suspension * FVD exhaust w/ cats * L999 paint to sample (99% match for 'Arena Red'), two tone grey/black leather interior (I think it even has leather covered vents) * manual trans w/ B&M SSK, sport seats, nav, full carbon interior (wheel, shift knob, dash, center trim, center console, door sills) * 19" champion wheels * unknown flash that raises rev limit slightly (~7k) - still stock 1.0bar boost * has one of the coolant fittings already welded up for safety/reliability. (http://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showthr...t=23058&page=4) 75k miles (bought it at 32k 5yrs ago) As a driver it has some flaws * Some chips up front. * There are a few small dings from the hailstorm in the right rear quarter. Haven't found a PDR guy yet to fix it. * Carbon steering wheel is cracked (they all do this, carbon is a lousy choice apparently) * seatbacks have some scratches (whatever porsche used to cover them is lousy) * The right side window only automatically moves down about half as much as it should when you lift the handle (~1/8" vs 1/4"?) It used to not do this so something has come a little loose inside or needs a new regulator. Its common but you don't know until you take the door panel off. Fuel pump was replaced last year by At Speed. Installed new plugs and 997 coil packs when I had that done. Oil changes every 5k w/ M1 turbo diesel. The ignition and light switches have recently been replaced CoA & sticker was $150k before the PCCBs, gt2 nose/tail, wheels, and mods were added. I've estimated someone spent north of $170k for the car. Edit: Has new rear tires '13, new alternator, battery, & as of yesterday (Feb 2014) new clutch accumulator/water pump/coolant (Tischer Silver Spring). Its "Arena Red"! I parked next to an original arena red 993 at the Hershey swapmeet and they were a *REALLY* close match. Mine maybe looked a TINY bit more purple but it really depended on how you looked at it. But I think I've finally tracked down what the original owner specified as the color. All the arena red pics I've seen didn't match my car but 'in the flesh' there was no mistaking the match.

Excellence stopped their value evaluations some time ago. You have to go back to 2010 to get their latest price guide to 996's. I looked up your model yr and milage on NADA http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2003/...rbo-AWD/Values . It may help in giving you some sort of reference point. Sweet car. Best of luck.

Bummer. Thats why I can't find them then. I hadn't noticed they went awol. I wonder if Bruce Anderson being in poor health was part of the reason
The problem I see w/ NADA is that it has no options. Nav is the only thing I can pick, which gives 40k private party. No X50, no PCCBs, no sport seats, no carbon, no nothing (except nav). It is a data point though. Now that I've done a little more research I do think it lies somewhere between NADAs $40k and KBBs $50k. Not ready to put it up on Rennlist or 6spd yet

I believe that Paul Anderson played a major role. Interestingly, the chief editor from Excellence now works for PCA's Panorama. I wonder if it would be possible for Panorama to take over that role. As mentioned, NADA/Edmunds/etc. just don't get into the nitty gritty well enough on collectible cars.

holy crap, i had no idea they were that expensive when new in '03! i guess the options just pushed it up that far...
anyway, beautiful car and GLWS. i have a buddy who is tossing around the idea of a 996 variant (unsure whether TT/GT) and will pass this on to him in case.

Interior pics? Never seen two tone in a 996 variant. Curious to see.

There was a 911 Turbo Buyers Guide in the Oct 2011 issue of Excellence. They show the 2011 price range for a 2003 Turbo going from a low of $36,800 to a high of $49,300. They show only a few hundred dollars depreciation between 2010 and 2011, and I expect the curve is still pretty flat between 2011 and 2012/2013. It's one of the best performance bargains around. If you would like a copy of the article, Stephen, PM your email address to me and I'll shoot you a copy. GLWTS!

Yes, the 911TT (996) is a wonderful car. But the X50 package (basically a GT2 with all-wheel drive) is a whole 'nother kettle of fish (in a really, really good way). GLWTS. Wish I were looking...
