I took the SC to work last week, since it was a nice day and not too much stuff flying around.
When I got in the cat after work and turned the key I just heard a POP WTF ?Aftyer that the car wouldn't start. I opened the engine lid and everthing was still there . The next step was to remove the air cleaner cover, and I found this.![]() Looks like the epoxy gave up, I don't want go in any detail, etc. However, I went back inside the office and found something to clean the area around the popup valve and made it as grease fee as possible, stuck the popup valve back in the hole and used some box tape to tape it down, so I can drive home. I made it home. I cleaned it all and removed the old epoxy from the valve and the air box, rought up the surface, used some accetone to remove any grease. ![]() And used JB weld to glue it back in. ![]() ![]() If you have an SC and a Popup valve was installed a while ago, you may want to check it if it's still tight in there. I hope this will help somebody to avoid to get stuck somewhere on the road, or better in a parking lot. Cheers Engelbert
