Greetings all,
I'm riding out the hurricane contemplating some new brake pads for my Boxster S. ....... PFC97 vs Hawk Blues. I've used the Hawks with good results and they do have a price advantage. It isn't just about the $$ though...anyone have bang for the buck experience ? Thanks

Forget them both and go with either Hawk HT-10s or the newer compound Hawk such as DTC-60 (not available for my car but should be for Boxster S). Less harsh on your paint, and (at least in my sizes) about the same price. Excellent friction but excellent modulation, too.

i used to use pf exclusively and then settled in on 97's for a few years. while i did that, my peers were swearing by hawk blacks. then i tried them and agreed with them. but i don't know blue. i'm guessing black is a step up from blue, and 97's as well, which is why they were feeling/working better.
my guess is hawk blue = pf 97 black is a step above both |

We use Hawk Blues on Carolyn's 964 and when I rode with her, I was impressed by them. I uased PF-97 on the S2. Hawk create a lot of dust and P-97F create a lot of heat, so cooling is essemtial to preserving rotors.
