Way cool video! I first attended VIR back in the 1960s while in college in Raleigh. In 1969, VIR was the site of my 2nd date with the woman who in 1970 would become my wife (celebrating 40 years in August!). We usually watched the races from atop the large hill behind where the clubhouse is now located (it was an abandoned building then). A whole bunch of trees have now grown up blocking what then was an unimpeded view. Track layout now appears to be the same as it was originally. My wife and I visited the track probably not long after this video was made as representatives of Woodbridge Kart Club (which was one of the first organizations to sign up for track weekends). My son, Tyler, won his class in the first enduro kart race held at the new VIR north course, probably around 2000 or 2001. Lots of good memories there.

This is cool since I just spent an hour looking at the history site after being there on Saturday. I heard the announcers at the race say that the Oak Tree dates back to the 1600's. Cool.
