Default Need Help, 61' 356 B Coupe

I need some help. A friend died of cancer last year and his wife just called me for help selling his old B Coupe (black). I have no idea of the value and need someone who can give some guidance with pricing and best way/place to sell it. It was in very good shape last I saw it 4 or 5 years ago, it's in the garage & covered for some time now.
Thanks

Excellence Magizine has a reasonable pricing guide, but I have no Idea as to how far back it goes.
There are other sources, but you came to the right place.

MANY WILL THINK THIS 1ST POST OF YOURS IS JUST SATURDAY MORNING BS.

If you are for real, then I'm truly sorry for your loss and am willing to do what I can to help!

Bill,
Sorry for the delay but I've been traveling. Yes this is true about the car. My name is Skip Close and I'm the cashier for DE Events at Potomac PCA.
I'm looking to help my friends wife get rid of (at a fair price) the car but frankly while I know DE and racing I just don't know the value of the old ones. I sold my 55 pre A speedster about 15 years ago haven't followed the prices much since.
The car is in a garage in DC right now and is soon to be moved to her house in Arlington. Wally had a 95 Turbo he sold before he died so now there's a space at home for the 356.
Thanks for any advice/help you can give.

I've found the Excellence pricing to be high, sometimes more out of line than the Pano adverts. They are a good guidline but I'd likely figure about 10-20% less for a real value.

On a 356, condition and, now, matching numbers. FWIW, Bs have brought the lowest prices but considering how much prices have increased in the past few years, is still should bring a very good price.

Classified ads are nice to peruse, but they only tell half the story - what the sellers are asking for these cars. You have no idea what the buyers are actually paying.

I like to look on ebay; the "advanced search" feature lets you search for auctions that have ended within the past 30 days.

This will at least give you an idea of how much people have actually paid.

I've never looked at it, but I'm sure the folks on the 356 Registry
http://www.356registry.com/
could give some advice.

Might even find some interested buyers.

X2 on the 356 Registry. Take some detailed pics and post them, along with everything you know about the car. Price suggestions will follow.
