Default anyone buy from brake planet

Looking for rotors and pads. Came accross brakeplanet.com. Their prices are less then half the price I have been able to find elsewhere (free shipping plus the rotors come with pads). Just looks too good to be true.

Any feedback appreciated as always.

Never heard of them before. Brakes aren't always something I want to go "cheap" on. Wonder who makes the rotors/pads. Could be a reason why they are priced the way they are.

Not much technology in a rotor, its just a piece of steel. If it fits, is identical and cost half as much seems like the way to go. Just wary of anything that is too cheap.

Personally, I wouldn't use any rotors that don't say ATE or Brembo or Porsche on them.

I hear Jiffy Lube has an oil change special this week...

Can you say "Chinese brake parts". I'm sure that's why they are cheaper and who knows the quality of metal they use. Brakes would be the last thing I would go cheap on.

The ones on my car are vented. I would venture to say not all vented rotor construction is the same. Also, quality of metal can vary. Mine don't say Brembo or porsche like Lupin's, but they do say Zimmerman (OEM).

Same story - on hold without pickup, accountant is out...I did get "Cathy" to say the the accountant was sending a check this Monday 1/28. I'll let you know if that's the case...

Sure, this could all be the same person. Maybe they were fired from the company for stealing some brake rotors, no way to know. But, I'm not going to find out either.

thepartsbin.com sells Zimmerman's for ~$50, good enough for me.

That's funny, my truck rotors have never said ATE or Brembo or Porsche on them. I am taking them back to those bastards at Ford dealership with some choice words for selling me chit.

Edit

On the way home I'll stop at Jiffy Lube to complain that the oil filter in my truck does not say Mahle or Porsche.

I'll bet you don't put Ford rotors on your Porsche though.
