Default Stafford Junction kids for July DE-volunteer

Fellow Dorkis:

Last year we had a great event at the July DE hosting the young people (and supervisors) from Stafford Junction. So we're doing it again this year.

Below is a information from Chip, if you have time to help that'd be great. Support last year was overwhelming which is a testament to PCAP.

To volunteer, contact this email address -- communityservice@pcapotomac.org.

Look forward to a great event again. Last year every young person I spoke with & the supervisors said this was the best field trip they'd gone on! Look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks

It’s that time of year again for our guests from Stafford Junction to join us at Summit Point on Saturday July 19, 2014.
Last year’s inaugural event with the Stafford Junction kids was very successful and the kids had a great time thanks to the generosity of the volunteers who showed them around, the skid pad rides (a favorite with the kids), lunch, and the parade laps.
They are scheduled to arrive at 9:00AM and depart at 3:00PM. We’ll have a short meet and greet in the classroom after their arrival to introduce volunteers and kids, tell them about the day’s activities, and cover safety issues. For anyone scheduled for a track session, I’ll stay with the kids in the lunchroom until you can come by and meet them. We hope to have pre-arranged time blocks in the morning and afternoon for the skid pad.
Thank you.

Look for more details soon on the potomac website at http://pcapotomac.org. The plans are being formed up now, but there's possibly going to be a MSR link for volunteers too, but don't wait!

This was a great experience for both the kids and for the drivers last year. I highly recommend it--bit of a change of pace.

Dorki's, getting a few responses on volunteers, need a few more & know this will be good by July DE. Basic help will be;

1) escorting a few kids around to show them your/other's cars, talk about Porsches.
2) Parade laps at noon. (last year we actually had more drivers than passengers).
3) Have a conversation with any of the kids about anything they want to talk about. Many questions on them from the kids last year (how much do they cost, how fast, how do I get one?= Hard work, being responsible, stay in school, etc).
communityservice@pcapotomac.org

Appreciate the help, thanks in advance.

Gary B and I are already signed up. Happy to help out again this year and corrupt (oops, I mean inspire) them with car knowledge.

We are planning to give them the usual smiles and giggles ride around the skid pad. Kids of all ages love sliding sideways.

To all Dorkis a big thanks!! Not only to the volunteers but everyone seemed to contribute at the event. Witnessed many of the kids watching tire, pad, caliper changes & asking questions, always good to see them getting ready for parade laps & skid pad as well.
Special thanks to Chip for leading the organization of this, always feels good to give back.

Cindy and I had a great time with Kendrick. Also got to spend some time with his sisters, who were hosted by the Nader and his wife. Great way to spend a day! And more kudos to Chip for organizing!
