So, have you decided to tackle this rebuild yourself?

yepper..i suspect it will take me a few months as I travel quite a bit. I was going to have Chapman rebuild it but I figure what the hell. Between advise given on this site, rennlist and pelican I think I can pull it off. The only thing I've done so far is get it up on jack stands and the only parts I've bought so far are some replacement body parts, rear bumpers, rear lights, a few seals, etc. Still need to get an engine stand, yoke, a few tools and then I'll crack it open and see what I've got..should be fun

If you get a p201 try to find the matching stand tool. I know you can by both on the bird but they are $$. I dont have one but it still works in most engine stand carts but it just a little loose. If you get he oem stand part it will give you infinite more angles at which you can tilt the engine vs the standard 90 deg.

I wound up getting the one from Mainely to use on a regular inexpensive engine stand. Well made, cheaper, and easier to store. Here's some pictures:

I have one of those too. Works better if you use longer bolts and some pipe to make room for clutch and flywheel.

BTW if you haven't gotten a stand yet look around for one that's tall enough to allow 360' rotation of engine w/heads. You'll be much happier in the long run and the work will proceed smother too.

Should be a fun project. If you need a hand with the drop/install send me a PM. I would be happy to lend a hand.

Don't have one to sell but here's a link to a group buy that may be what you want, no affiliation
