Default Does anyone have a 256MB AGP video card?

If you have one lying around and you've been thinking about unloading it, shoot me a PM. I can get one just as easily from Amazon or Tiger Direct for about $35, but I thought I'd try here first. It needs to be a brand that is still in business so I can update drivers.

Thanks!

George,

The minimum I need is a 256. A 512 or greater will work fine but will also cost more moola.

Not 100% certain, but we may have one. I'll have my son check the PC that my oldest left behind when he joined the Marines; he's since purchased a Mac laptop. The PC had some sort of HD problem, and is just sitting on the floor right now.

We may have one, too. I'll check when I get home.

Brian just advised me its a 9800 PRO 256MB video card, about 5 years old, and in a computer that hasn't been used for about a year. But he's fairly confident it should work fine. It's your for free if you can figure out a way to get it to you.

Thanks, Tony! I appreciate your generosity. Do you know who makes the card?

Brian hasn't gotten back to me yet, but I'm pretty sure it was an ATI Radeon.

FWIW, I've got an ATI 9800 Pro in one of my test boxes. It runs nicely.
There's always the chance that there were changes in the build history of that card, but you should be good.

Mark, if you PC has a PCI Express slot there are some far stronger graphics cards out there for very low prices. If all you have is an AGP 8x slot, then your stuck with something like the 9800.
