TLDR: Looking for a garage in the DMV that can properly do lifters, rockers and perhaps the cam shafts for a fair price that are Dodge familiar, with OEM parts and some sort of warranty.
Our hockey hauler [2020 Durango GT w/ 73k miles] started acting up on trip back from NY the other week. Very noticeable vibration when at a stop. I accelerate and it goes away Hooked up my Carly [OBDII tool], no misfires, no vacuum leaks and no red flags. Did my Googles and attempted the easy diagnoses. Cleaned the TB. Cleaned the K&N air filter. Cleaned the MAP/MAF sensor. Issue persists. My local indy said it was showing random misfires on all cylinders, but not codes were being thrown. Fuel pressure test was done and it checked out as good. Dealer said the same. The local Dodge dealership proposed a hefty estimate, 'but, could work out a discount,' and that 'some parts on the estimate were 'just in case.'' i.e the cam shafts. Insult to injury, some parts are 45-days out! Both primary and aux batteries were replaced a month or two ago. So. All that said. I don't want to put a Durango out to pasture [trade-in] that is still relatively new to drop cash on another one.
