I'm not an expert, but we've been through some issues relative to our son who has some learning disabilities. If your son has any disabilities, physical or cognitive, he may be eligible for some State assistance, which may make him eligible for Medicare and/or Medicaid. Otherwise, after age 26, he has to purchase his own health insurance. The only other advise I can give is that support/assistance doesn't come to have to go look for it. Be his advocate, and programs vary state to state.
