Great course. Fun day.
Sadly we had a boxster ruin his clutch out there.
I was fortunate when I got my first Porsche (a 914) to be told that clutches are expensive and they are a "weak" point. Seems the that tradition holds true. The amount of time gained by a burnout/slipping clutch at the beginning of a course is not worth it.
At PCA events, first and second are tenths of a second (at best) and usuall 1/2-1 second apart. Unless this was an SCCA National event the time just isn't worth the potential damage. (remeber, we don't even get little trophies

)
