Be sure to interview several attorneys who: (a) regularly defend people cited for such violations (ask about experience, strategy, rates, your role in the defense, range of possible outcomes, his assessment of the judge(s) that preside over the court, etc.), AND (b) have ties to the community and the court in which your case will be heard.
Subject matter expertise and local knowledge are key to a positive outcome.
