Well, welcome down the slippery slope! Sounds like you have a fun track car.
fwiw, the "spec" tires, are spec for a reason - they balance a cost/wear/use pattern pretty well (for racers, who otherwise would run Hoosiers).
Nothing worse than buying a cheap tire and quickly learning why it was the cheap tire.
Also, the more you drive, your own preferences might begin to show with regards to tire feel and characteristics .. stiff sidewall or a softer sidewall.. noise from tread patterns etc.
fwiw, I've used Falken Azenis rt615s and find they have good grip/wear characteristics. I think they also have a newer version (rt660?)
