Porsche seems to use both, interchangeably. I guess it depends on their supplier du jour. Both of my previous 987s came with Torx bolts and the replacement bolts I've ordered would be either Torx or hex-socket (Allen).

And, the Torx bolts are definitely Torx. Porsche does use triple-square bolts, but for other things, like door stops and cv joints.

The biggest problem is that Porsche says the caliper bolts are single-use only. They recommend replacing the bolts every time the caliper is removed. However, I have re-used bolts a few times and never had a problem. I know several other people who have also re-used bolts without an issue.

I have a bunch of once- or twice-used caliper bolts in the bin, if you want to come sort out a few. Most of them with the black oxide coating.
