Yes you remove the locking nuts and replace them with the new style. Screw the adjuster all the way down and then lock the new nut onto the adjustment screw. Then loosen it back off and place a shim under it. Retighten the locking nut . The valve is now set to the proper gap..there is a video on YouTube..look them up and let me know your opinions on it.. it was so easy to install..
