Replace the fuel filter if it hasn't been done in a few years. I'm speculating a mostly-clogged fuel filter is causing your pump to work harder than designed.
On the S4 I had charcoal canister stuff get into mine because of my habitual topping off of the gas tank
Noticed the fuel pump was louder than normal and caught it in time. Subsequently noticed the fuel pump fuse has some pretty toasty looking spades.
