Unfortunately, it looks like the repair on the hinge mount is incorrect. The part that you drilled out and re-threaded is actually supposed to fit inside the mount, leaving a flat face on the surface. Then, the bolt that attaches the hinge to the hinge mount is actually a shoulder bolt, and the bolt's shoulder bottoms against the hinge mount and provides the surface on which the hinge rotates.
I just went through this on my '73 914. I had to fix both (L&R) hinge mounts, since both were cracked. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics because I didn't think anyone would be interested.
