Yes, the pieces are hold together with sheet metal screws. I also had the fenders on to get the gaps as good as possible. They are never perfect, but I don't think they were all perfect when these cars rolled out of the factory.
It's a lot assembling and take it apart, and over again, and don't start to weld until all fits OK.
