Hmmm, while you're in there? Well, if a turbo then the list would be much longer so at least there's that.

But I would say the following are things you should consider:

- New motor mounts, assuming they aren't recent
- New trans mounts, if you need to remove the trans
- Clutch, if it's nearing time (could be an oppty to switch to a lightweight flywheel)
- Front-end reseal
- Balance shaft reseal
- Water pump and timing/balance belts, if not otherwise new
- Obviously new head gasket -- good opportunity to have the block and head decked. Have the head's valve seats/guides checked
- Could "splurge" for a new ISV, plus associated rubber lines (chances are they're toast)
- New o-rings on the AOS
- Drill oil pan for temp sender (better location than drain plug method)
- Stud the head for the intake -- currently it uses bolts but this causes alignment issues/difficulties. Studding is cheap and makes installation of the manifold much easier
- Check the condition of the exhaust manifold -- cracks?
- New fuel lines and injector O-rings
- New vac lines, if you haven't done so since you've owned it
- Check condition of injector, speed/ref sensor, and knock sensor harnesses, and if necessary, replace.

You might also want to consider putting in an oil cooler, or at the very least the oil temp gauge. Oil temps on N/As aren't bad but you should at the very least know what they are.
