Bell Crank and helper spring bushings
I've dropped the engine again to replace the clutch.
While it's ass up I was going to refreash a few things.
Kurt saw my bell crank bushings were shot last month and talked me into getting the brass ones.
(Bell crank is the arm on the transmission that the accelerator cable and the rod going to the engine.) The arm swivels on a shaft that sticks out of the transmission. The original bushings are plastic.
Well I should have checked before I destroyed what was left of one of the plastic bushings. You got it, the new ones I ordered don't fit. They are too small both OD and ID.
The weltmeister bushings came from performance products when I ordered the rear lift / tow eye. (I normally don't get stuff there)
The part # was 910242 (they said I could happily return the $5.00 part, but couldn't help me find the right one.
Pelican sells the OEM #914-423-211-00 (74-89)
and show the same #910242 for the bronze bushing.
MAMotorworks sells a Weltmeister set with their own part # 408-180
I called and she couldn't cross reference this number to the OEM or the number 910242.
I tried to look up weltmeister on the web and it'snot working.
So Kurt, or anyone else, where did you get them?
Anyone got a spare set or at least one of the plastic one's I can use till I can figure this out?
Another Bushing question:
The omega looking clutch helper spring is attached to the big clutch arm. I ordered new bushings, pin and other hardware from Pelican. It's on it's way.
I had a few minutes so I disassembled what I have and it is different than what I expected and saw on the parts pictures.
Mine has two tiney sets of needle bearings and the pin is knurled so it is a tight fit on the omega spring. I'm expecting to get bronze bushings for this.
I ordered all the hardware, so it's possible that it will work.
Anyone R&R this and seen the needle bearings?
What to do?
