Electronics: Spent a ton of time doing electronic hookup since I was adding an AIM MXL Pista, Replay Camera/hardwire, Cool Shirt, and Motorola CM200 radio.

AIM MXL: Mounted it to the plastic housing on the steering column. At first didn’t fit well as the bolts kept hitting all the plastic junk underneath the housing. Then realized I could get rid of the clockspring, as I no longer had an airbag or horn. Once that was removed, fit perfectly. Nice thing about AIM is you can hook directly to the ECU on newer cars. Gets all kinds of info...RPM, Speed, gear, each wheel spin, steering angle, etc. Most people run 2 wires back to the ECU on the rear deck lid. Read on rlisp about how a guy hooked it up by the fuse panel in the driver’s footwell. Was going to do it there, but while reading the wiring diagrams, found CAN wires going into the NAV system. Ended up running a short wire from the AIM to the NAV location, plus got power of the NAV too! For the electrical hookups for all the stuff I added, basically used wires from the NAV System area. Even though I twisted, soldered, cable wrapped and heatshrunk all the wires, if anything goes awry , I only have to look in one area instead of having splices all over the place.
