I recently painted my truck's tailpipe tip w/ POR15 (it had an ugly, rust-colored-but-not-rusted patina). Seems to be holding up OK. POR may make a flat black (mine is somewhat glossy).
thanks jerome. being a noob at painting (ANYthing, that is), do i need to prep the surface besides a good cleaning? i honestly dont care if they look good up close - the "3 foot" rule or whatever it's called is good enough for me. and since i track it a lot, i just dont want them to be constantly chipping/needing repaint.
