Can you lock up the tires? If not change pads or rebuild. Do the brakes overheat on the track? If yes rebuild and do a total flush then add cooling if still happening. Adding bigger brakes to the above if existing conditions are not corectable will not make you any faster. (They might look good but this is not a looks kind of a gang now is it?  )

You have several valid points:
No I couldnt lock up the brakes even after a rebuild, new pads, etc, could also be the 9" wheels with the 255 tires offering up just a whee bit too much stick.
Do they overheat? the car will never see the track as that would send me back down the slippery slope into SCCA and poverty. But I guess it would give me some time to look for another wife as the current one (#2 & who is positive cash flow) would be gone. Been there done that
Bling effect - what the hell its a money pit anyways and I only get to visit it two days a week as it is so I might as well have fond memories
At some point the next owner may need all the upgrades
