A regular plow will put a lot of weight on your front springs. The truck may or may not be rated for it, but I personally would not worry about overloading the front. You can probably get upgraded springs for the front if it's really an issue.
As to the extended warranty, you probably will get some use out of it. I'm not familiar with the warranty, but it appears that it does cover the front and rear diff, at least that's the way I read it. |

I was looking at some bling used plows with all the bells and whistles. Would be cool plowing out my entire street before Mont. County got there. They take forever!
