Neither, BMW E39 528iT (touring = station wagon)

Dunno about driveline damage ... all moving parts are enclosed in bellhousing of Getrag / ZF transmission. Center support bearing on l o n g BMW drive-shaft was still good. Rear diff fluid was clean (replaced with redline).
