AWD can be easily disabled in a tt (<30 min). Lots of guys apparently doing the RWD only turbo thing.

Though, Im sure it takes time to learn to drive a turbo REALLY fast.
In the orig flavor of the thread, even a 996 gt3 is in a completely different price category than a tt (or busted gt2). The orig intent was as a daily driver too. I'll contend that a turbo is more fun (& civilized) there too. A good friend bought an 04 gt3 last month & drove it home from FL. When he took his wife to the airport to pick up the vehicle he left, she refused to drive the gt3 back to the house it made so much noise
