I have done an engine drop, by myself and can do almost anything mechanical but I have zero knoweledge when it comes to paint. I have been reading the threads here and on the Pelican site but I must admit I have no clue.
The car seems to have a base/clear coat finish now. Used a small amount of polishing compound and did not see any color. So I'm guessing I was polishing the clear? I'm not trying to turn it into a concours car, just presentable. So to answer your question, I guess I don't know enough to answer your question.
