Hell yeah. That is awesome. I think I might know a guy who'd be very interested in something like this. He's one of those weird EE/tool geek types with a Miller MIG welder

It's funny, I'd been thinking about this exact thing ever since you mentioned it and then I got my spoolgun, which comes with a switch you need to install so that the welding trigger starts the gas and the weld current but NOT the internal wire feed.
