Kurt is right on. "Safety" equipment is part of a system.Individual parts are often way more dangerous without the system working together.Roll bars need helmets,seats and harnesses. Look up pictures of Porsches that have turned turtle a couple of times and the roof line rarely moves that much. I could be wrong, but I believe in most states, harnesses are illegal as they are not DOT approved for road use. Imagine doing flips with your torso held firm and your head without a helmet flopping around like a rag doll.
