Scott -- most of us here probably went through an experience like yours before we discovered the DIY route. Lots of what you had done could be handled in a driveway if you had some basic tools and a pair of jackstands. Heck, an oil change doesn't even require jacking the car up. And the brake bleeding could be accomplished when replacing the tires, which would reduce the amount of labor.
