Not that it isn't a good, idea, but seriously, you're talking about saving 2.5-3% of the price of a fill-up by going with 89 instead of 93. When you are at $3.50/ gallon, knocking off $0.10/ gallon doesn't do a whole lot for the wallet.
It actually would have been a better idea to try this when premium was $1.20/ gallon vs $1.10 a few years back, netting closer to a 10% savings.
