Not quite - problem with the cashier's check scam is that it might take 2-3 weeks before the bank comes back to you and wants their money back. The check "clears" and the money gets put into your account, but then you're screwed later, and by then the buyer is long gone with your car (and any delta $ you paid him from the check).
