Default Oops.

I made my first post here, without introdouching myself. Sorry.

I'm Kerry Plackmeyer from Baltimore, MD. Own a 1975 911S which I got (finally) in May of this year. I work in the radio business now, but turned a wrench at a shop in the St. Louis area for about 4 years 1990-1993.

The short story of the car is this:

I worked in highschool for a car shop to pay off the bills for fixing the stuff I would break on my car and couldn't fix myself. Swept floors, changed oil, etc. Went to college for a year, then went back to the car shop...and spent 4 years there. The guy I worked for, in 1987, bought a 75 911 with no rust, never wrecked, ok condition car. He rebuilt the motor and tranny, painted it, did the interior, suspension, etc. and drove it just to go fast. He was a lot like a dad to me, and we kept in touch over the years....all the while me harping about when he wants to sell it, let me know. So...he called this winter. At the time, my wife was between jobs, and the idea of buying a Porsche seemed a bit absurd to her, which I understood. He said no big deal...it could sit until I was ready. I thougt I would work on her over the next few months. My birthday came several months later, and my wife gave me a letter...with a picture of a 911, saying she cannot imagine what it was like to want something for 20+ years, and she gave me the car for my birthday! So I flew to St. Louis 3 weeks later and drove it back. Have been smiling ever since!

Thanks to }{arlequin for turning me on to this local board. I have been on Rennlist and Pelican since I got the car, but didn't know about the Dorki board.

Hope to run into some of my new local friends!

Thanks!
