Best year for M3 (2000-2005)

Sold my 911 SC RUF Clone last year, bought a JKU and ready to sale it!!!! now I am looking for a BMW M3 Coupe and looking for advise... Years between 2000-2005.

Charlie- the new brass Brass Shift Coupler...
Charlie- the new brass Brass Shift Coupler Bushings are in, along with a new short shifter (OEM), pedal clusters rebuild, and new clutch cable. The car runs and feels great. Thanks again!

Ok, attached a bungee cord to the shifter on...
Ok, attached a bungee cord to the shifter on neutral towards the driver side and the coupling loose. Manually moved the coupling towards the passenger side and tighten the nut. Done! Perfect...

Short shifter question
Installed a factory short shifter on my 83 sc. Tried to adjust according to instructions, but only able to engage 3rd 4th 5th and reverse. Any suggestions? Thank you
