How to remove front spoiler?
I've decided to DIY the raccoon damage to my front spoiler/valance. I got gift cards for Harbor Freight and Home Depot for my b-day, so I just ordered my tools and new fog light. Anyway, my SC has a Carrera front spoiler. I haven't tried yet, but am wondering how tough it is to R&R all this stuff. Any links to step-by-step articles? Thanks.

I recall 2 bolts in the trunk, on the front bulkhead. The only other connection was at the little metal fender extensions behind the accordian.
That was on the SC. Can't imagine much difference, except as you know the fogs on the SC are hooked on the valance. If you can get a parts diagram it would be good reference. Luck! |
Piece of cake.
You shouldn't need to remove the lip to repair the valence. The valence is held on by two (IIRC) 8mm fender bolts that attach to the bottom of each front bumper extension (the squarish thing on each side that extends the accordion to the wheel well). That is, four 8mm bolts total. Then, there are two (IIRC) 10mm fender bolts accessible on the backside of the forwardmost sheet metal panel in the front trunk, under the latch panel. |
As previously noted .. piece of cake..
Two bolts in the trunk and attachment points for the rubber bellows Remember to disconnect the fog lights I removed my front spoiler and installed a GT racing airdam.. looks cool >> and if someone could walk me through how to post pix on the site > I would be happy to post pix of the GT racing airdam.. |
Just what I needed. I haffta wait for tools to arrive, but this will be done soon. Got one of my Fabspeeds installed on the 993 last night, will finish tonight and then the SC comes into the garage for some work.

I’ve had a lot of luck with just running the car against a high curb at speed
Ha, you were going to repair it anyway  |
Richard,
This is off topic but if you need front bumper and valance, you can come by and take mine. I was going to cut them up and practice welding them back together. If you need the front bumper, I'll practice welding with the rear ones. Andy |
Thanks, but my valance is for a Carrera and I've already got a new fog light for it and body work tools on order. I'll DIY this one and keep it as is.
