Happy Holidays Dorki Style
1 Attachment(s)
Had some fun in the garage yesterday -- which will continue throughout the weekend.
|
Dorki-style usually involves a dozen people and 3 dozen donuts. :D

That looks way too safe to be Dorki style. Where are the wood blocks? :P

Too cheap to buy donuts or beer. And there are wooden blocks if you look carefully -- between the jack stand and the car.
Now if I could only figure out how to get the new trailing arms into the car. Then I'll put the motor back in. The monoballs are just a few mm too wide to fit into the trailing arm mounts. |
I think any advice will require donuts and beer, Josh. Don't you other guys concur? :D
Josh, what's the snag you're running into? The new trailing arms should go in the way the old ones came out. Or are they a different size (e.g. 930 trailing arms)? |
The new trailing arms are carrera aluminum arms. But I've also installed monoballs, which are too wide to fit into the trailing arm brackets. My guess is that the trailing arm brackets have been pinched a little over time due to tightened bolts against rubber bushings. So I made a trip to Home Depot to get enough material to build a small press. It should do the trick...I'm waiting for my little heater to work some magic in the garage.
Wish me luck! Beers are in short supply around here. Only 3...er...2 left. |
