Dorki Founders FunRun

From memory and a few old emails, I think the first Dorki FunRun was held on 6/22/2002. There were eight guys in the run. I was trying to recall who the original eight guys were, and I think we have at least six of them identified. Who were the other two??

OK, so is this the Founders Fun Run list?

Marc
Doug
Justin
Jim
Tom (red 996, Jim's old neighbor)
RickLee
Tony K
Unknown

There are some guys on the original email list whose addresses I dont recognise:
Djmpc[at]erols.com, Rbpw, novak[at]bloch.nrl.navy.mil

This started in another thread, but its worth moving it to its own thread.

Charlie and Geoff are clearly in the Founder category. This board was put up later in 2002, and has been the focal point for the crazy growth of the Dorki gorup to its current 500+ members.

novak must be Jamie Novak, now in TX

I think Jamie was there and I was too. Djmpc@erols is a defunct email addres of mine.

Thats nine, and I thought we had eight - could be wrong about the number.

Unfortunately I missed FR#1, but I'm flattered that you all think I was there :)

I was on the first fun run. I think that's where I planted the idea for Jim to get a long hood instead of the luxOcruiser.

Unfortunately, I won't be on any local to you Dorki fun runs. But I am keeping the spirit here in TX. We have a good local crew that is DIY and enjoys the driving most. Oh, and there are some great roads around here. Did I mention its warm?

Don't worry TK, I'm still here :)

You had the date right, 6/22/02.

I also have the lists from FR2, FR3 and FR4.

Thanks Doug! I knew you'd have it.

I was stuggling for the last name. Did not remember a Tom [or a red 996] and was not sure about Rob being at the first. Now I remember he drove the several hours up from the south, stayed overnight, and was rearing to go at 6:30. Great guy!

We've come a long way from that little group!

Tom Pruro I believe. We worked together at NAS in Herndon then he went to Cisco and beyond. He lived in Cascades near the Giant.

I would have been with you guys but broken head stud on turbo....headaches
