Celebrating my 1 year anniversary of the engine drop

Man, I can't believe it has been 1 year now since my engine drop. Seems like just yesterday but literally it was one year ago today on the calendar that the blessed event occurred. :)

Every now and again I take a look through the pictures of the drop (and subsequent rebuild) and am still amazed it not only came out and apart but that it all went back together again

For those of you considering going in yourself dive in and don't look back! For those of you who have already been there you know what I'm talking about

What no gratuitous before and after shots of the engine rebuild :? ?
Please post some pictures of that beautiful 3.0L Doug .
I think that is the greatest sense of accomplishment that can come with Porsche ownership, taking the whole engine apart and rebuilding it. Props Doug 8) ! I can't wait to drop my engine out and tear it apart  . Maybe I'll make playing the lotto my new hobby next year  .

Congrats Doug on the anniversary! You know, I think I've been infected by Dorki engine-drop-itis. I've had 3 engine drops in my garage in the last 18 months. I think I need counselling. :?

gee Doug, sounds like you need a project in need of an engine rebuild  the reason i got a 914 is because i had so much "fun" rebuilding the typeIV in a vw vanagon and i wanted to do it again.... (and again... and again......)

Thanks fellas.

Pari - all the pics are still up in the Engine Drop Gallery under my name.

As far as projects go this winter, I think I'm gonna take the season off

A YEAR????? AND IT'S STILL RUNNING??????

Nice work Doug. There will be plenty of projects around that you can go play with if the urge strikes. I spent last night over at Paul's place helping him with his 951 rebuild. Nice car, nice guy, and definite Dorki material.

Having seen his project, I think I'm up for some surgery on the pumper this winter. Just a few 'home' projects to clear first
