Question on old style oil return tubes.
I need to replace the return tubes on the drivers side 1983SC 3.0
My car, has the old style oil tubes that are spring loaded, I have tried to crush to remove but they wont even budge. I have a few questions: Can they be reused using new viton green seals? What is the best way to get them out? Are they easier to instal? I am trying to avoid dropping the heat exchangers. Thanks in advance. |
George:
Not aware of spring loaded ORTs. The Original tubes are solid and installed when the engine is being put together. If they are the expandable type made from Aluminum billet you won't be able to crush them. The steel ones can be crushed with channel locks and twisted out. I'd be happy to stop by tomorrow if you PM your address and phone number. |
