SVRA Finale at VIR 10-/14-17/04

Race Fans:

We are running in the SVRA Season Finale at VIR 10/14-17-04 and have crew passes for anyone wanting to get away for a weekend, day, etc...

287 drivers, 300+ cars.

356 is in CP class with 356 coupes, speedsters, convertibles, Lotus Elan S2, Elva Courier, '68 911L, Lotus Super 7, Triumph TR250, Datsun 2000 roadster, Datsun 240Z and others.

IROC is in class GTO with '90 Corvette, '86 Buick Somerset, other RSRs, '83 Camaro, and other big american Iron. Get to run with Howard Kympton (Potomac) in the RSR he is selling.

Should be able to get in car footage from the big car. No camera setup in the tub.

Really looking forward to running on the track with Henry Payne's 907 LH ("longtail") in the enduro. Just got to remember to let the rest of the car pass before turning in behind it

Event entry list is here

How cool. Jase, you're my hero. I hope I can be you when I grow up.

I wish VIR wasn't 6 hours away... I'd love to come watch the action. Oh well, maybe next year when I'm (in my dreams) driving my early 911 vintage race car!

Have fun and as always be safe, Pops!

Jase, I'll have plenty of time to help after I win the $215M powerball this weekend.

Looks like a great event ... unfortunately it's not in the cards for this Dorki

Have fun and snap some pics for us.

BTW, I hadn't seen those Payne P-cars in a while and was wondering if they still had them. Nice to know they are still in use.

They do. Henry Sr. had a little contact in his 904 with the USA colored Vette roadster back in J500 2003 and I know took a break from putting his VERY nice cars on track for a while. They have entered the 907LH and a 908/2. (which I haven't seen before). I have run with the LH and just like RRII, you forget (almost) what you are doing as you watch it motor by. :) The 908/2 shoud be great in the roller coaster and the uphill S's.

Unfortunately, I know Balbach's speedster and Bigg's speedster are a few seconds quicker than my tub so I'll have to find my battles elsewhere ... unless there is a lot of traffic .... hmmmm

Jim:

If you do win ... buy this '69 911 vintage racer.

It has a nice 2.2L MFI setup ...

Have a great time Jase. And best wishes for great results for both you and Jim.

BTW, $215M powerball win didn't materialize. I'll just have to slum in my purple DE machine.

Sounds like you are better than ready Jase!

Tell Greg I'm confident he will have a busy buy crisis-free weekend. Great to hear you have the new 2.0L race-ready. That should be a fun car to drive, as if I wouldn't want to drive any car in the SSPI stable!

You and Jimmy both drive safe, OK? Podiums optional
