Here is the link from the 356 Registry talk list:

And some trivia on a very popular seat manufacturer:

Quote:

Porsche after many years of having Reutter build their bodies they purchased the company. The old Reutter company re-did itself as a seat company. They used a contraction of their old name to form the new name. The old name Reutter Carozziera,(SP) the new name Recaro!
Never knew that one.

Cool pics, Jase. I want a tub badly. Actually, I think I have my wife wanting one, so that's a win-win situation in my mind. The only problem is she insists on blowing all our money on frivolus things like food and clothes for the kids . Hopefully she'll come to her senses one day.

Wow, was that local? Now that's an impressive turnout, that makes me long for a 356. Although, I might end up stripping the interior to make it look and sound like Jase's  .

This past weekend in Williamsburg, Va - ended Sunday with a swap meet.
Last year Ashville, and the year before in Charleston, SC. Held anually, next is to be in San Antonio in April 05.

Jerry Seinfeld entered his 'barn find' '51 Pre-A coupe with 19k original miles. The car was incredible - never painted and has perfect original everything. It didn't even win it's class (placed 2nd). There some nice cars there for sure.

Chris M.

Keep your eye out for a nice coupe. Could get into a 356B in good running condition / decent paint / interior for around $15+. 356 Classifieds

nice early '64 coupe for sale. Great color. :D

Pari:

I like looking at the street ones but the track ones are ten times more fun

Little b:

Nice car. Interesting overbar option on your car.

Another example on a '66 912:

Brian, that 911 is too pretty to be sitting around  . We need to get that thing on the road :) .
BTW there might be a Dorki drive up to your neck of the woods, check the fun runs/events area.

That 64 Coupe is amazing! I didn't see a price, and I'm not sure I want too, either. I really want a late B or C, and I like the styling of the laters cars a lot (and because its probably the only thing I could afford). The disk brakes on the C would be nice, too. I think they're the same brakes as on the early 911s.

66' coupe

pari,
the car is currently buried!
but i will dig it out, if it is on Saturday's dorki run! let me know when the time is good! (i think it hasnt been started for a few years, so i'm ITCTHING to turn the key! need oil filter/gaskets, rinse gas tank....)
we just need to set a date to try!

Chris M:

Yeah, I love the combo of dark grey and the blood red leather. I would suspect b/c it isn't a concours car that it would be in the teens.

'64-65 are same fronts as early 911 (65-73) with "M" sized caliper. Rears are a beast unto themselves but share pad size with '65-68 911 and '70-76 914-4s. Jest went through this for the umpteenth time. Check out the thread "Hawk Blues v. Pagid Oranges".

Like mentioned in other threads ... plenty of stopping power if the weight is down on the car. :D

A nice coupe, (not concours) would be a great weekend car in the driving months of VA (read no AC). Speedsters and convertibles are outrageouslly overpriced right now (I know, what the market will bear argument / BS / etc....).
